Caribbean Winter

After a successful summer in Florence I felt it was time to spoil myself with an extended vacation in the Caribbean. I started my travels on Dec 28 on Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas. My great friend Eleni which I had met in Florence invited me to stay with her family in there beautiful vacation getaway right on the beach. I spent 3 weeks soaking up the sun and enjoying the fruits of the caribbean.........life is hard.
After the Bahamas my sister met me in San Juan, Puerto Rico for her birthday. We then rented a car and traveled the island for 10 days together. After she returned I stayed in the small town of Rincon P.R. for nearly 2 months spearfishing catching lunch and dinner in this beautiful surf town. Rincon is on the west coast of P.R. and in mid Feb is the perfect place for whale watching, surfing, fishing, or whatever your heart desires. Here are a few pics...

I just happend to land in Old San Juan in perfect timing to catch the festival of San Sabastian. It is a crazy party like Mardi Gras or Carnival. The streets were packed with thousands of people enjoying the festivities.

My sister Andrea met me here on Jan 22 and her B-day is the 23rd. As you can imagine we had to party like it's 1999!!!

We rented a car and toured the island for 10 days. Our first stop was El Yunque Tropical Rain Forest. This is a view from the top of a watch tower that stands ontop of the mountain.

This is my great friend Josue. He is a local from Rincon and he was very helpful with showing me around. If you ever pass through Rincon you must stop by his little Rasta Shop were he sells everything from hats to hamocks. Just look for the signs.
